COME ON - HAVE A LAUGH

COME ON - HAVE A LAUGH
1st Lady emailed me a copy of quotes taken from an Insurance company, and stolen from Mike's Blog!
I read it last night and then again this morning and have even printed out a copy so that I can have a laugh anytime I want.
I remember reading similar quotes from claim forms when I worked in an Insurance Broker's office many years ago.
One other that I remember said " I know I ran over the pedestrian but he told me it wasn't my fault as he had been run over before!"
(For more of these wonderful quotes read Mike's Blog)
I got to wondering though about laughter and why I sometimes get odd or rude stares when I am out in company and laughing out loud?
I was brought up with a father and sisters who all enjoyed humour to it's last drop and would laugh like hyenas until we were so weak we couldn't move. I guess I have always thought it was normal behaviour but as the years pass I have discovered that maybe this is not the case.
There are the quiet sniggerers, the lofty 'oh rather amusing' smirkers, the 'hide behind the hand' gigglers, the 'can't quite break my face into a grin' listeners and the snorters and wheezers. ( Unfortunately I can break into this last catagory too easily!)
I know lovely families who love a joke, have a quiet little short laugh and that's enough for them. All well and good ....except that I can be found, shoulders heaving in silent laughter, for ages after and then hours later I can remember the funny item and start all over again.
BUT I thank God for laughter, and it is extra nice when the laughter is with me and not at my expense.
PS It is one of the only delights in life that remains free of charge!!!
