With the holidays in full swing and airfare prices increasing, even Jet Setters appreciate travel tips that will tell us how to get a great deal on air travel!

Here are a few straight from travel blogger Aldo Singer of Cheapoair.

The Holidays usually mean some family time is on its way and there is pretty much nothing you can do about it.  How you get there is definitely something you CAN do about it.  A lot of people travel during the holidays but there a few secrets that can help traveling during the days a little easier on you.  Here are some tips to consider before you purchase your airline tickets.

Punctuality: Of course the holidays mean time-off and not having to rush to work or anywhere else for that matter but take the earliest flight possible.  Specifically, the earliest flight you can the day you plan to travel.

A lot of people will be traveling the days before Thanksgiving but if you take the earliest flight, you’ll have a good chance to beat the crowds, feeling more like a winner and less like a Turkey.

Lose the Excess Luggage:  Chances are your Thanksgiving Day trip will only be for a couple of days so there is no reason to go crazy and overload on the bags.  The benefit of only having carry-on bags will not only lighten the load on your back but will also cut down your time in the airport.  Waiting for your bags can be an extra 30 minutes to an hour after you’ve all ready landed.  Add that time to your R&R time.

Book Ahead: Not necessarily a holiday travel tip, but if you’ve anticipated your holiday travel plans ahead of time then why wait?  Book your trip ahead of schedule.  It will cut down on tons of excess booking fees that you might get charged with if you decided to wait until the last minute to book your travel plans.

…Hopefully your mind hasn’t turned into cranberry sauce after these few short tips.  Hopefully they’ve helped you closer to fun-‘filling’ vacation.
