Robert Burns Night - What to wear

Robert Burns Night - What to wear

What do you wear on Burns night?

This seems to be a regularly googled question and one that perhaps finds you here after such a search. For the ladies that have searched this term you could click on the above photo and perhaps get an idea of outfits worn, this was at a formal charity Burns night. I remember noticing that very few women wore tartan, which I found rather shocking. If you're going to a burns night at least wear a tartan sash and remember why you're there. If you're young, pretty, and have a good figure then woollen ankle length tartan skirts paired with a clashing knee length tartan cardigan would be an appropriate choice.

If you're not keen on the above dresses then may we recommend the following -

Tartan beret over back combed hair. Black cardigan with tartan sash matching tartan skirt. A practical dressing gown style belt attached to purse. This Burns outfit is complimented with the following undergarments which should be worn in case of emergency, being run over by a bus, twirled off the dance floor etc -

Tartan bloomers with knee high socks as modelled by L.Muck (L.Muck asks me to remind you that photographs do add on lbs, and that in person her legs (excluding knees) are a lot slimmer than this.

How about these elegant yet stylishly understated suggestions...

and...

and something for the fuller figured lady?
